Aakash 2 Tablet - Lenovo Says "Quality Tablet For Rs. 2276 Is Very Challenging"
Lenovo's business development director, Keith Liu said that the company may consider participating in the India's ambitious 'Aakash 2 Tablet' project but believes that it'd be very difficult to produce a 'quality' tablet with a great user experience for the proposed cost. Lenovo is aware of the project and already looking at the proposition. Liu heads the tablet business for Lenovo in China; which is the second biggest tablet player after Samsung. The Human Resources Development ministry of India plans to distribute over a million of these low-cost Aakash 2 tablets among Indian students. The biggest selling point for the Aakash tablets has been its price, which is about $41.
