    CEans,

As most you have would have noted, CE experienced extended outages in the last two days. Seemingly simple errors turned out to be monsters upon inspection and regular troubleshooting didn't help. At one point, restoring a 10 day old backup looked like the only solution left - which meant we'd lose all the members and the contributions to CE in the last 10 days. That'd be a huge loss considering that we had just announced the CEoM app which has already received 40+ applications as of writing this (no new applications were accepted in the last two days).

I must thank the expert Linux administration staff at LiquidWeb, our web hosting partners for their support in fixing things without letting CE lose any of its data. It meant that we had to keep CE closed for our visitors and members; but we believe it was the best decision we'd have taken in such a situation.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in reporting errors and testing things out whenever we asked. It proves that CE continues to be a well-knit community and CEans go out of the ways to help each others. Hats Off to all of you!

This event proved to be a teacher that taught us a few things that'd certainly help us in the future tackle such problems in a better way.

We've made sure that everything's working as it should on CE. If you encounter any issues or notice anything out of place, please report it here or to admin [at] crazyengineers [dot] com.

    Just curious to know

Were those errors because of enhancement in code or database or something else?
Are you sure? This action cannot be undone.

It wasn't because of enhancement in code. It seemed to be a MySQL server issue that got into some rare situation where the log file volumes didn't match.
