WDYL.com By Google - What Do You Love?

WDYL.com is Google's new service that was silently launched on the Internet. WDYL stands for "What Do You Love?". The site is aimed at offering single point search across multiple Google products like 'Google Translate', 'Google Trends', 'Google Books', 'Sketchup', 'YouTube', 'Google Alerts', 'Google Product Search' and so on. An interesting thing to note is that if you just type wdyl.com (without the www in the beginning), you get directed to 404 page. The correct url to visit to access the service is #-Link-Snipped-#

Now wdyl is interesting in its own way. First of all, unlike Google's traditional multiple pages for every search results, wdyl offers you a single page with boxes that display results from various Google products. We tried searching for 'CrazyEngineers' and got the following results - and we must say, it's impressive.

We also liked the overall layout of the page which makes it easier for the user to browse it. There's a slider on the left part of the page which you can move to quickly access bottom of the page. The results are grouped within a grid with three columns. The overall layout of the pages goes in line with Google's keeping it simple policy in 99% of their designs. Why don't you try out different search terms in wdyl and share your interesting discoveries with us through comments below?
