XOLO Q2100 Priced At Rs. 13,499 - Specs & Features Out At Launch

XOLO does it again by bringing one of the latest features in an Android smartphone at an affordable price in India. Launched today, the XOLO Q2100 features fingerprint sensor that ensures only YOU are able to access your device. Now when it comes to smartphones with fingerprint scanners, the only brand names that come to our minds are the biggies like Apple and Samsung. While on one hand Samsung has several phones in its Galaxy Series that feature the sensor as the security feature (latest being Samsung Galaxy Note 4), this year was big for Apple as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both bring the fingerprint scanner to the table. XOLO will definitely gather some appreciating nodes as the Q2100 smartphone starts retailing at a price of Rs. 13,499.

Featuring a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with 1280x720 pixel resolution, 267 PPI pixel density and support for 16M colors, the XOLO Q2100 has a scratch-resistant screen thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 3, that not only makes the exterior tough, but also provides for touch & light transmission. Loaded with a 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor coupled with 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM, the new Android v4.4 KitKat OS running phone comes with 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

On the phone's rear end, there's a 8 MP Exmor R(TM) Sensor camera while on the front there's a 2 MP snapper. The camera supports dual flash, auto focus and 1080p HD video recording. A 2800 mAh Li-Polymer battery that takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge offers a talk time of up to 22 hours on 3G. Apart from these basic features, the user's connectivity needs are catered to using USB, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and WLAN support.

Coming back to the fingerprint scanner talk - the XOLO Q2100 lets the user securely access and unlock their smartphone by just placing their finger at the back of the phone and swiping. Moreover, there's a preloaded app called the 'Last Pass' that stores all passwords can again only be accessed via your fingerprint scan input. Other than that, the phone comes with a smart feature that lets you turn the XOLO Q2100 into a remote control thanks to another app titled 'Peel Smart Remote'. This app lets you control your TV, DVR, set top box, Air Conditioner, DVD player among other appliances and also lets you browse channels on TV, search for your favorite shows and set reminders for upcoming shows.

With that we come to the end of specifications and features highlighted by XOLO on their official site. One thing is clear that no other phones offer a fingerprint scanner at that price, so if you are a fan of the feature XOLO Q2100 is your best choice. We do believe that to really compete head-on with other Android phones in its price range, XOLO needs to stand out by offering a better processor & better display at the price. There's just too many heads in the competition around here.

There's no word yet as of now about the availability of the phone or unveiling on an e-commerce portal. We will update the post as soon as those details are out. Till then let us know your thoughts on XOLO Q2100's features and price in comments.

This is another one in the gamut of smartphones.

The only distingushing feature of the phone is finger print sensor that is not available with the low budget phones.
