XenForo Gold (1.0) Released. vBulletin Should Learn.

XenForo 1.0 has come out of RC and attained Gold status few hours ago. The promising forum software developed by ex-vBulletin developers Kier Darby and Mike Sullivan has been under development for over 20 months. XenForo promises a smoother, robust and faster forum software and is sure to eat vBulletin's lunch. What makes the release interesting is that there's a pending lawsuit against XenForo, filed by vBulletin officials. In the official announcment on XenForo Community Forum, the lead developers said that the software is now stable and ready for deployment in production environment.

What's New In XenForo:

XenForo has been built by scratch by the former lead developers of vBulletin 3. vB3 enjoyed the status of most powerful and robust forum software on the Internet, way ahead of its competition from other commercial and open source forum software. XF features a refreshing new UI with a eye-pleasing blue theme, over 150 add-ons and plugins developed by enthusiastic developers, dozens of themes and styles, and a #-Link-Snipped-# that helps you get started in no time. [IMG]

New XF Gold features ad-location templates, which is not an entirely new feature, but a very handy feature for webmasters willing to add advertisement codes to their websites. With that, XF is also touch-browsers and device ready. XF uses most modern HTML 5 coding along with awesome attachment upload and media embed facilities.

XenForo Gold Launch Price Discount Offers

XF is celebrating the launch with special discounts which are as follows -

For those who've already purchased the XF license, XF is offering a new license at only $115 until March 15. After March 15, the pricing will be as follows -

    [*]1 - 2 licenses: $140 per license
    [*]3 - 5 licenses: $130 per license
    [*]6 - 10 licenses: $120 per license
    [*]11+ licenses: $110 per license

Extension prices are discounted for owners of multiple licenses:

    [*]1 - 2 licenses: $40 per extension
    [*]3 - 5 licenses: $35 per extension
    [*]6 - 10 licenses: $30 per extension
    [*]11+ licenses: $25 per extension

Overall, XF looks very promising and the competition should seriously take note of XF Gold launch. Both Kire and Mike bring years of development experience. They are a small team, listen to the customers and are fast in implementation of new features with an eye to security and stability. Features wise, XF is far from catching up with other software, however we believe they'll give a new course to the forum development in future. vBulletin, once the most preferred forum software has seen many dedicated customers and loyalists switch to rivals. vBulletin should quickly learn from the smaller guys and bring the lost glory back.

All the best, XF!
