World’s Lightest and Smallest Phone, Elari Nanophone C up for sale in India at INR 3,490

With every passing day the universe of phone devices keeps getting larger and bigger. Swimming against this tide, there is Elari Nanophone C. The newly launched phone is marketed to be the smallest and lightest phone in the world and comes with a price tag of Rs. 3,490 in India. The device might not stack up big against specs but it sure boasts of robust audio and battery support.


The phone comes in a thin and sleek design, with rounded buttons. It is capable of integration with most Android and iOS smartphones and hence can act as a secondary device in case the user needs to forgo the use of the primary smartphone. This GSM phone that is almost the size of a credit card features a 1-inch TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 96 pixels. Running on RTOS, the device uses a MediaTek MT6261D chipset. There is a provision of 32 MB of RAM and 32 MB of storage which can be further expanded to up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

The dual-SIM phone comes with the functionality to support 1000 numbers in the phonebook and can be connected to any smartphone with one click. The contacts and music files are transferable too. There are options of Bluetooth (BT3.0),FM Radio, MP3 player with support for multiple international languages as English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Thai, Lithuanian, Latvian languages albeit without any support for Indian languages.

The other features include Safety/backup phone for travel and emergency cases, GSM voice calls and SMS through own microSIM and Bluetooth sync with any smartphone (iOS, Android). The Magic Voice function enables users to get in fun mode by enabling them to make prank fake calls to friends. Battery capability is 280 mAh with talking time of up to 4 hours and standby time of up to 4 days.

Nanophone C would retail in three variants of Platinum silver, Rose Gold and Black anthracite through e-commerce portal Yerha. All in all the anti-smart, ultra-compact mobile phone can make for a good ‘digital detox’ solution in our smartphone obsessed world.
