Will there be jobs in the IoT industry in India in the upcoming years?
Now a days , IOT(internet of things) is play very important role in normal life of human.
Mostly in all of the things IOT is used like Google assistant ,Alexa, siri. and most of the electronic appliances is controlled by using IOT. So is there is any career or jobs in IOT industry in upcoming years in India??Posted in: #Career Help
Firstly , what is IOT?
Internet of things , you can record video , audio and even text etc and do your analysis. So what analysis you do. Let's talk about text, let's say there is a bot in CE that collects all the text that is typed and sent to a server. What can we do?
We can do a lot of stuff, we can read the questions and segregate into multiple domains etc. Like sports, education etc.
So in a nut-shell IOT collects lot of data , and there will be jobs to analyse and understand the data and use if effectively.
IoT is one of the technology that is trending in the market now. Basically using IoT there are multiple applications that helps for data storage, data analysis, live tracking, data monitoring.
To be more specific applications like smart home, smart farming, smart garbage monitoring system, connected health are some of the examples.
Also if we observe some of the applications like 112 India, Life360, which are used to track the current location and analyse the data to track the nearby volunteers and send back the analysed data to the person in needy as well as to the concerned person when in emergency situation also uses IoT application.
So, there will be much scope for jobs in IoT.
IoT is starting to move on from the hype cycle into practical applications. According to Deloitte, the IoT market in India is predicted to be valued at $9 billion by 2020 (still just a prediction, but a substantial potential nonetheless). I foresee in India there will be a rise in Industrial IoT use in the agriculture and manufacturing verticals where the aim is to increase productivity and lower costs, as compared to the nice to have retail IoT applications like smart homes where demand will grow slower. Look into the whole IoT stack first - hardware sensors, connectivity, platform (e.g cloud computing and data storage) and apps. Jobs opportunities will be spread across this stack, such as embedded engineers, telco engineers, network engineers, data scientists, software developers & business analysts.
The connectivity portion was a limiting factor before, but with low powered networks like LoRaWAN and NB-IoT it is more practical now to deploy battery powered sensors on the field to collect the relevant data. Once you have all the data, the value comes from analyzing it.
There will be plenty of jobs in future based on IOT (Internet of Things) has it is most emerging technology which can change the way we use gadgets in our daily life. With the help of IOT one can easily control home appliances through mobile phones by sitting at office or anywhere in the world, So everyone wants to ease their life by using such smart technologies.
In demand of more smart home appliances this in-turn will create more opportunities in the field of Internet of Things.
