Currently I am using 8gb ram and on the top of Windows OS, I am running CentOs in which cloudera is installed. But the cluster is not working properly. I mean when I run my hadoop program it takes about 15-30 minutes to give the output. Same goes with hive too. I am in dilemma that is it the hardware issue or my program is written in more complicated form?

So if I need to run my program smoothly what changes are required in my hardware configuration?

The minimum requirements to run Hadoop is :

You're laptop/desktop must have minimum i3 or above processor.

Ram must be minimum 4gb however i recommend 8gb to use.

Hard drive storage of 25gb or above free space.

Can you specify your computer details more specifically? It would be a great if u specify.

Has you told you have 8gb of ram i think your computer is capable of running Hadoop easily without any issues if u still facing issues try it in windows 10 operating system.
