What is the reason behind the name of the programming language python?

    Python was named "Python" after the great comedy show of early 70's Monty Python's Flying Circus.

    Guido van Rossum, who is the inventor of Python was once going through the script of this show and he liked the word "python"  so he named it after the comedic group.
