ViewSonic Viewphone 4S Is The World's First Dual-SIM ICS Smartphone

It seems to be a seriously tough competition as ViewSonic has introduced a range of smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The two new phones will basically savor Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich. Among them Viewphone 4S is the dual-SIM smartphone compatible of giving the power of two phones into one that too with the flavor of Android Operating System.

The dual-SIM function seems to be highly flexible as each SIM can be programmed individually. Users can assign contact icons, message alert independently. You will be on a platform where you can carry on your business activities from one SIM and keep in touch with your family from the other. Hmm. Good, isn’t it?

The company claims that the device comes pre-installed with premium applications which include SRS Tru Media Audio enhancement, PicSel Smart Office and Ignition Remote Access. With these software, users can edit Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents with the ability to view and edit files in the cloud as well. The Ignition Remote Access allows a user to control a PC through the device’s UI itself.

Interestingly, you will be able to print documents right from your phone to any wireless printer nearby reducing pairing and cabling costs through Access points or routers. ViewSonic’s last phone ViewPhone 3 was launched at CES 2012 last month which is now getting into the European markets. The company said that ViewPhone 3 will be powered by an 800 MHz processor, run on Android 2.3 with EDGE, GSM and HSDPA network support.

The newest phone ViewPhone 4s (Dual-SIM) will feature a 3.5 inch multi-touch display. The display is essentially tweaked to be a ‘super clear’ 960 X 640 resolution IPS panel at 326ppi and 800:1 contrast ratio; you can say the device is all set to provide life like image with details. This model also holds a 5 MP AF camera and a front VGA camera for video calling. Officially, there is no information regarding the storage and processor but we expect the device to be powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor with 4 GB internal memory and a microSD expansion slot. That’s all what the company has disclosed for now. We are ready to capture all details as soon it is made available by the company.

The ViewPhone 4s is set to launch in Q2 2012 in Europe with an expected price of US$499 and for ViewPhone 5e, it would be somewhat around US$599 for a 5 inch capacitive touch display with 800 X 480 resolution.
