The most appreciating fact about the iPhone, iPad and any other iOS devices are the apps that are designed to suit the needs of the user. The information regarding the release of the new version of Apple Set Top Box has already been out. A similar competitor Logitech wanted to have access to the Android Market through its Revue Set-Top Box which runs on Android Platform. Nevertheless, a recent update to the Revue Set-Top Box made the device possible to have access to the Android Market and surf through a wide variety of apps, as a reason for which some Apple folks users wanted to have the same access feature in the Apple’s TV also.

A new hack ventured into the market over the weekend on a video put up by a developer known as “TheMudKip”. Dubbed MobileX, the hack that allows Apple TV users to access the Apple App Store and facilitates iPad apps to run on Apple TV platform. MobileX is a window manager for iOS that replaces the original springboard and allows the iPhone and iPad apps to run on the TV.

However the hack is in its early development phase and many days to go before it is available to the public. One thing that might obstruct some users to avail the hack is that the Apple TV device needs to be jail broken before applying the hack using #-Link-Snipped-#. This would compel the users to likely lose the product warranty once the device is jail broken.

The hack offers an embedded menu that allows the users to gain control over the app as the TV lacks the touch sensitive interface to interact with the native menus. Apple Insider reported that the TV would be able to run Safari, Maps and of course most of the people would be interested in running Angry Birds on their Apple TV.
