Ubi Interactive Makes Any Surface A TouchScreen; Play Angry Birds On The Wall!

You want a large interactive touchscreen in your living room to play Angry Birds on? Well, your wish is granted. Thanks to a new three-men start-up from Munich called UBI Interactive – Part of the Microsoft family. Ubi provides a plug-and-play gesture control solution that can turn any surface into a 3D touch-screen. With the use of Kinect sensors for motion-tracking and depth-perception, Ubi system turns a regular projector into a multi-touch interactive PC projection system. When Ubi turns any wall into a touchscreen using Microsoft’s Kinect | Ars Technica team went on to take a look at its working at Ubi Interactive in  Seattle's Microsoft's Westlake offices, they were pleasantly surprised to see how well it worked. Having said that, I think it is important to bring to your notice that Ubi is one of the 11 startups that won $20,000 (£12,300) of funding and support from Microsoft as part of its Kinect Accelerator programme.

Ubi team claims that their system is universally compatible because it works with Windows' built-in touchscreen support and works with any PC application. Their software may cost something close to $500(£320) as is told by one of the founders. The applications of this system are immense. From public information displays, offices to healthcare. Furthermore, even if the children in your house go and scribble things on your touch-screen wall, you will not have to be worried at all.

You might want to see a demo of all this in action on their official website here.
