Transcend PSD320 Parallel ATA (PATA) Drive Announced In India

Transcend has announced PSD320 as the latest addition to its line-up of solid state drives (SSDs). The PSD320 aims to replace the traditional 2.5'' 44-pin PATA hard disk drives found in POS machines, automation computers at factories, medical equipments and engineering machines. Expect ultra-fast R/W speeds, 104MB/s and 93MB/s respectively from the new drives. Transcend promises suppor to PATA, Ultra DMA modes 0-6, PIO modes 0-4, and multi-word DMA modes 0-2. Under the shell, the PSD320 features  MLC Flash chips which enable high storage capacities up to 128 Gb.

As the SSDs do not have any moving parts, you can expect high shock & vibration resistance and consumer lesser power as compared to the traditional hard disks. To ensure secure and faster data transfer, the PSD320 is equipped with integrated ECC (Error Correction Code). The drive is currently available in three different storage capacities: 32/64/128 Gbs. All the drives are backed by Transcend's 3-year warranty. We do not have any information about the official pricing of these drives.
