Tesla SUV "Model X" | 0-60 mph In 4 Sec | Price: $50k - $70k | 2014 Delivery

Everything you wanted to know about the brand new SUV by Tesla Motors is right there in the title. Tesla Motor's CEO Elon Musk #-Link-Snipped-# Tesla's third vehicle and decided to call it 'Model X'. Our best guess about the name is that the model takes the 'X' shape when the double-hinged Falcon Wings are open (see the photo). Musk informed the reporters that the doors will open in tighter space and are hinged high enough for a normal person to enter the second and third row of the vehicle.

The drive train is actually an AWD variant of the Model S;  and capable of accelerating to a speed of 60 mph in little over 4 seconds. Note that the Model X is much larger variant than Tesla's other cars. Tesla offers an optional Dual Motor All Wheel Drive; typically useful while off-roading.  You'll get a cool 50% more torque which should suffice all your driving desires. Of course, the power house for the motors is impressive as well. Tesla says that the SUV will host either a 60 kWh or 85 kWh battery which will also offer an impressive driving range.

Front seats will have access to Tesla's touchscreen control panel for all-vehicle-control and also double as your entertainment station. The price of Model X has been set at $50k - $70k but the actual delivery of the cars will begin in late 2013 or sometime around 2014. Start saving!
