Swipe Elite VR With Android Marshmallow Lets You Enjoy VR Content For Just Rs. 4,499

Swipe Technologies have launched a new smartphone at a glittering press event just a few hours ago. The Swipe Elite VR was launched today and has gone up for sale exclusively on ShopClues for just Rs. 4,499. This price tag probably makes it the cheapest VR enabled smartphone in the Indian market because previously we had the #-Link-Snipped-# that retails for around Rs. 5000. The Swipe Elite VR offers pretty good value for money for this attractive price tag. The Swipe Elite VR starts of great with a 5.5inch HD resolution display that will offer more screen space not just for VR but also for regular content viewing.

Since Swipe Technologies haven’t listed the Swipe Elite VR on their website we could not get the details of make and model of the chipset. They have linked to the ShopClues listing of their product which is also devoid of details. The only spec we could find out about the processor is that it is a quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz. The Swipe Elite VR has 1GB of RAM which seems to be woefully underequipped for multitasking. The Swipe Elite VR has obligatory 8GB of internal memory which is pretty standard in entry level smartphones. The Swipe Elite VR runs Android Marshmallow instead of Android Nougat which most new Intex smartphones have opted for even in the entry-level segment.

The Swipe Elite VR manages to gain some favourable points by including high resolution cameras for both the front and the rear. On the rear we find a 13MP sensor coupled with LED flash and on the front we have a 5MP sensor. Just a quick reminder the Intex Aqua 5.5VR we mentioned earlier had a 5MP camera on the front with LED flash. The Swipe Elite VR is powered by a 3000mAh battery that can enable it to last for an entire day on average use. The Swipe Elite VR does support 4G and VoLTE.

The Swipe Elite VR has connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB. Sadly we could not get the sensor list which begs the question does the Swipe Elite VR have one of the essential things to run VR which is a gyroscope? We reached out to Swipe Technologies on Facebook but haven’t got a confirmation as of this writing. We shall update any communication from Swipe in the comment section. The Swipe Elite VR is being sold for just Rs. 4,499 exclusively on ShopClues and comes with one year warranty. The box contents do not mention the availability of a VR headset which presumably has to purchased by the customer separately.
