SteriShoe: Using UV Light To Eliminate Smelly Shoes

Smelling shoes is the common problem most of us facing now-a-days. Often people suffer from nail fungus, athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) and mostly diabetis patients has the problem of  bad shoe odour. Here the US shoe care company has recently invented a remedy  on this problem - Sterishoe, a device that woks on UV light for killing germs.

The team members state that sweat becomes the base for breeding of fungi and bacterial infection in shoes resulting in bad smell and many diseases. Sterishoe is the device that works as a sanitizer to remove fungi and the bacteria for more than 99.9 %.

UVC light is generally used for sanitary purpose in hospitals, swimming pools.etc. Hence #-Link-Snipped-#this device has proved beneficial in many ways in just 45 minutes. The use of UV light has made it comparatively safe as it does not contain any chemical. The sterishoe includes mainly two safety features. Firstly it contains compression sensor that makes the UV sanitizer compressed when it is inserted inside the shoe. Further it turns off automatically whenever the device is removed from the shoe.

This device is well designed to work in dark situations. The second feature of it is that it consist of environment sensor that it first check the surrounding whether it is dark or not and works only in dark. The device will not perform if little light is detected. The device is always provided with two shoe bags so that  the open toed part of the device must be covered.

How it works?

The sterishoe is inserted slightly into the shoe to be sanitised. It is as similar to our daily used shoe shape. Then the AC adaptor is switched on for power supply and it is kept as it is. Take care that it is in dark surroundings. After 45 minutes the sensor light will turn off automatically. The device is removed and we get germ free safe shoes for use. The UV rays used in this has specific wavelength of C light which is near about 253.7nm. this is known as “Germicidal UV” or “UVC”. This UV light emmited by sun removes the microorganisms completely.

In US this company has tested it on  almost 86000 diabetic patients to check its effect on foot ulcers and the result was most satisfactory. The price of this sterishoe stated by US company manufacturing it is $129.95. It comes in three sizes small, medium and large.  Dermatologists has preferred it best option than spraying powder on shoes as the powders contains harmful chemicals which can directly penetrate through skin causing other diseases. Sterishoe is safe and is suggested to be used on daily basis after using shoes.  Thus this product is for everyone and is safe way to have clean germ free shoes.
