Sony Xperia L1 is the company’s attempt to renter the entry-level segment

If you looked at Sony’s launches at the Mobile World Congress 2017, it would have made you think that the company was focused on the high-end and mid-range smartphone market. Things have changed today with the launch of a new smartphone from Sony. The Sony Xperia L1 was quietly launched on the company’s official website. The Sony Xperia L1 may be the successor of the Xperia L but it looks nothing like the former. The Sony Xperia L1 has the quintessential Sony styling with slim exterior. The Sony Xperia L1 has a smooth rounded frame. The Sony Xperia L1 comes with Sony Assist feature that learns and adapts to your smartphone habits and surroundings.

The Sony Xperia L1 has a 5.5inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution display. This might sound a little bad on paper but it gets worse as the Sony Xperia L1 does not have the display technologies that Sony is famous for. The Sony Xperia L1 runs on a MediaTek MT6737 chipset that houses a 64bit 1.45GHz quad-core CPU setup along with 2GB of RAM to operate Android Nougat. The Sony Xperia L1 has an internal memory of 16GB and you can expand the storage to up to 256GB with the help of microSD cards.

The Sony Xperia L1 will be sold in single and dual SIM variants. The Sony Xperia L1has a 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and on the front you get 5MP camera for selfies. The Sony Xperia L1 comes with USB Type C connectivity along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Sony Xperia L1 is powered by a 2620mAh battery that can last for a single day on average use. The Sony Xperia L1 will be launched in select markets from late April. It shall be available in White, Black and Pink colour variants. Sony has not released the pricing information but we predict that it will be priced affordably.
