Samsung introduces Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro in India at Rs 22,990 and Rs 13,590

The South Korean tech giant Samsung, on Wednesday, has launched Gear Fit 2 Pro and Gear Sport in India. Priced at Rs 13,590 and Rs 22,990 respectively, both the wearables will be available for sale starting from December in India. These devices have featured prior to their release at the IFA 2017 tech event in August, however, it took no more than few months for Samsung to launch the devices in India. Both the wearables come with excellent specs and features which will be found below.

Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro comes with a rectangular 1.5 inch Super AMOLED curved display screen sporting a resolution of 216 x 432 pixels. It has Polycarbonate and Glass fiber casing with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The strap is made up of elastomer and is 127 mm long and 24 mm wide to offer perfect fit on the hand.

The device has 1 GHz dual-core process supported by 512 MB of RAM. It has internal memory of 4 GB which allows its user to store up to 500 songs on the device. The wearable is powered by Tizen OS and comes with preloaded applications like Speedo On, MapMyRun, MyFitnessPal, etc.

Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and heart rate sensors are the important sensors the device comes with. It relies on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS Glonass as the main connectivity option. The device has 200 mAh battery Li-ion battery that lasts up to 3 days on normal usage.

Samsung Gear Sport, on the other hand, comes with a 1.2-inch circular display with 360 x 360 resolution. It is provided with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is water and dust resistant also.
Gear Sport comes with 1.0 GHz dual-core processor backed by 768 MB of RAM. It has internal memory of up to 4 GB and comes with Tizen OS 3.0.

Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Gyro Sensor, Barometer and the heart rate monitor are the main sensors present on this device. Apart from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS GLONASS, it has NFC as major connectivity options. The device is powered by 300 mAh Li-ion battery and can be wirelessly recharged using Samsung dock feature.

Hence, at a competitive price point, Samsung has announced both his new lines of wearables in India. Though both of them resembles in hardware, the Gear Sport wins the top spot because of its rotating dial and NFC feature. NFC feature supports Samsung Pay and allows to carry out transactions by manually controlling the Gear Sport and dial. If money is not the factor, Gear Sport seems the most and obvious fit for users, however, those who are looking for cheaper alternative can surely go with Gear Fit 2 Pro.
