Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Iris Scanner, Water Resistant Body & Android Marshmallow

Samsung Unpacked 2016 is over and there are no prizes for guessing which smartphone they launched at the simultaneous events that were held across the world. Numerous leaks had informed us that it would be Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and they were bang on target. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has tried its best to be better than its predecessor and it is. Along with the regular fingerprint sensor you get an iris scanner that takes forward Samsung’s home grown Knox security feature. The 5.7inch Super AMOLED Quad HD resolution display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 curves on either side giving you a nearly bezel-less construction. The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the S-Pen has got a revamp as well. Just like the smartphone itself the S-Pen can work when it’s wet and even when it is immersed underwater. The S-Pen now understands multiple languages, so you can scribble anything you like.

Underneath the hood, Samsung has decided to stick the same innards as found on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge if you live in certain countries. You get a 64-bit octa-core setup that houses a 2.3GHz quad-core and a 1.6GHz quad-core processor or you get a 64-bit quad-core setup that houses a 2.15GHz and a 1.6GHz dual-core processor along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM to handle Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has an internal memory of 64GB and it has a hybrid SIM and microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB. The cameras on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 have the same dual-pixel sensor technology, wide aperture and fast auto focus that were first installed on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. On the rear we get a 12MP Optical Image Stabilisation camera and on the front we have a 5MP snapper.

The battery on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is a whopping 3500mAh that can be charged quickly with the help of the USB Type C port found on the smartphone. You can also charge the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 wirelessly. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be launched in selected countries on August 19th in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx colour variants.
