Samsung Exynos 5 Dual CPU Tech Specs Revealed

Samsung has revealed the tech specs of their Exynos 5 Dual CPU on their blog recently. The official blog post shows that this CPU will feature Cortex-A15 dual core processor, with each processor clocking in at 1.7 GHz that makes it 40% powerful than Cortex A9. The in-built Mali-T604 GPU will support WQXGA display resolution as high as 2560×1600 pixels. The memory bandwidth of the 800MHz LPDDR3 RAM is 12.8GBps. This memory speed is complimented by the fact that it is capable of supporting interfaces like SATA 3 and USB 3.0. In terms of graphics, the CPU complies with OpenGL ES 3.0 and OpenCL 1.1 standards and it can handle 1080p videos running at 60fps which is essential for stereoscopic 3D playback and recording. This 32nm System-on-a-chip (SoC) is based on 32bit RISC architecture for mobile devices. The image signal processor present in the chip will have associated processing units like 3-Dimensional Noise Reduction (3DNR), Vdeo Dgital Image Stabilization (VDIS) and Optical Distortion Compensation (ODC). eDP controller and PHY transceiver help this CPU reduce power consumption. This CPU will provide straight competition to Qualcomm S4 and NVIDIA Tegra processor and will be incorporated in mobile devices soon.
