RockMelt – Browsing Experience Re-Imagined

Gone are the days when searching on the web meant simply navigating through the pages! Browser is now a window to keep connected to everything. This concept leads us to think about why not have a personalized browser? – A browser that fits our needs.
RockMelt Team has integrated all the essentials a user needs while he/she is browsing. We can access all of our favorite sites from anywhere, without leaving the page we are on. And RockMelt notifies us when something happens.

Some call it the ‘social savvy’ browser because we get to browse ‘with’ our friends. All that we have to do is log into Facebook. With that, we have our friends and their latest status updates available along with us in a left column. All our feeds and websites are organized along a right hand side column. And the search bar is right at the top of the screen.

#-Link-Snipped-#RockMelt is fast and solid. Fast because it is backed by cloud and we can use our keyboard to flip through Google search results and pick the one you want. Solid because it is based on Chromium, the open source project behind Google’s Chrome browser, this in turn is based on WebKit, the open source HTML layout engine started by Apple, as well as a host of other projects from Mozilla and others.

The RockMelt Company is backed by Netscape founder Marc Andreessen and its beta version is rolled out. Have a look at the following video from RockMelt:

Some users think that this browser may not work due to the existing browser giants in the market and considering the fact that you can just add 2 extensions to Chrome or Firefox to make a replica of this.
But who knows, it might still thrive. What’s your take?
