Roadmap to become a Data Engineer
I'm struggling with choosing a career path in CSE and I'm a 2nd year student pursuing my Bachelors in CSE. I need help to plan and learn accordingly.

Good to know that you're actively exploring career options in data engineering. It's too early to say; but I'd advise you to focus on the following -
- Build a strong base in programming language. Python, Scala, R would be your top choices
- Build expertise in SQL
- Start experimenting with various database systems [MySQL, Mongo, Redis etc.]
- Start exploring cloud technologies - Azure, Google Cloud and AWS
- Develop above average communication skills (written and spoken)
With these, you should be able to find an opportunity really quickly; right out of the college. Data Engineering is an emerging career path - and I see huge opportunities in it in the next few years.
PS: It's incredibly hard to find data engineers; so better be one of those. Companies are willing to pay handsome salary to high-quality data engineers.
