Renault Kwid AMT And 1.0L All Set To Launch In February 2016

Renault India is all set to showcase two new variants of its popular hatchback Kwid at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2016 scheduled to happen during the first week of February in Greater Noida. The company will unveil the Renault Kwid small car with a 1.0-litre petrol engine along with an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) equipped variant. Renault is targeting small cars market with its Kwid variants. The small hatchback with SUV-like stance will showcase a more powerful 1.0-litre version during the event. With Kwid, Renault is targeting a market mainly dominated by Hyundai 1.0, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Celerio.

The Renault Kwid comes equipped with a driver side airbag and central locking system. The new 1.0-litre engine developed by Renault and Nissan has been aliased as B4D, which is supposed to produce around 68bhp of power and close to 95Nm of peak torque. The new engine has got four cylinders shall also be seen on the Datsun Redi-Go.

The hatchback comes with a user-friendly MediaNAV, multimedia and navigation system which is equipped with seven-inch touchscreen display. The MediaNAV system comes with a range of functions such as route navigation with voice guidance, Bluetooth audio streaming & hands-free telephony. It has got input option with USB & AUX ports.

The easy-to-read digital instrument are mounted on the Renault Kwid, with on-board trip computer provides valuable information such as average fuel consumption, distance to empty, average speed and other calculations.
The car features a high ground clearance of 180 mm which lets you take on any challenge with ease. Renault is claiming it most fuel efficient car with fuel economy of 25.17 km. The company launched the Kwid just before the festival season with a 799cc engine at an aggressive price starting at Rs 2.57 lacs. Only few months after the launch, it started receiving a favourable response in India.

Renault has got whooping 80000 pre-bookings for Kwid and is expecting to sell more than 1 lacs cars in 2016. Initially Renault was producing approximately 6,000 units of Kwid a month, a number which was unable to meet the demand. Therefore, the company has announced that they will be increasing the production up-to 8,000 - 10,000 units a month which is a massive 50 percent (approx) increase.
