Reliance LYF Wind 5 With VoLTE Launched: Features, Tech Specs & Price At A Glance

Reliance Industries owned smartphone brand LYF has launched another Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) handset in the Indian market called the LYF Wind 5. As the name suggests the Wind 5 is part of the Wind range which consists of entry level smartphones that cost from Rs. 6000 to Rs.7000. The LYF Wind 5 costs Rs. 6,599 and it shall go on sale both in brick and mortar shops are well as online retailers. The newest member of the LYF family comes with USB On-The-Go compatibility which is a rarity in new smartphones. The LYF Wind 5 has some decent specs and would make a good deal for the first time smartphone buyers.

The LYF Wind 5 sports a 5inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution IPS panel display with a pixel density of 294ppi. The display however isn’t covered by any protective glass. Underneath the hood, we have the quite popular MediaTek MT6735 SoC that houses a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, ARM Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM which is capable enough to run the installed Android Lollipop. The internal memory on the LYF Wind 5 stands at 8GB and you get the option of expanding that storage to up to 32GB with the help of microSD cards.

On the photography front we have an 8MP camera on the rear with LED flash and on the front we have a 5MP camera. Both cameras are capable of recording 720p HD resolution videos. The LYF Wind 5 is powered by a 2000mAh battery that is claimed to offer 6.5 hours of talk time and 140 hours of standby. Connectivity options on the LYF Wind 5 include Wi-Fi, microUSB and Bluetooth. The sensors found on the LYF Wind 5 are accelerometer and gravity sensor. The smartphone measures 144.6mm x 72.8mm x 8.45mm and weighs 137grams. The handset is available on Black and White colour variants.
