Sony had earlier confirmed that they'd bring the network back within a week. It seems that Sony's going to take more time to get everything up and running. Sony's director of corporate communications & social media, Patrick Seybold said that keeping user data secure is one of their top priorities and network won't be restored until they are absolutely sure about system's strength. He says that the complexity of the systems and the enormity of attack is consuming more time than they earlier estimated.

Seybold says that they are aware that users of Playstation Network and Qriocity are eager to play games over PSN and chat with their friends, and they'll make it happen as soon as possible. It's not certain how long will SOE take to get everything back, until then we advise all addicted online gamers to go out and find out some adventure sport for yourself.
