Pin Insertion Mechanism - Thoughts

So the thing is, my team is working on automation project. It consists of two stations, at the first station a Pin of 4 mm diameter will be pressed into a similar dimension hole. and at the second date will be punched on it.
We are using a hydro pneumatic cylinder for the desired stroke at first station. The challenge here is designing a mechanism or fixture which will hold the pin and will keep it in straight position so that pin wont get damaged during insertion stroke.
Your ideas and thoughts are most welcome!

4 mm pin shall have a 2mm pilot shank with suitable length, 2 mm to 4 mm should be a smooth taper. there shall be a undercut at 4mm start point.
    Installation steps:
    1.insert the 2mm pilot
2.punch from 4mm side till it flush
3.snap off the 2mm pilot @ the undercut
