Going by the tagline 'designed for active learning and active students', the new gadget called the Panasonic 3E is a convertible device launched in collaboration with Intel Education and Microsoft. Being marketed as the "educational tool", the Panasonic 3E is an academic device that holds a plethora of K-12 apps great for students and includes on-board cameras (a 1.2 MP front and a 5MP rear), a thermometer probe and an add-on lens that the company believes can make learning science and mathematics more fun to learn through a hands-on, highly engaging, STEM-centered educational experience. Let us take a look at the various highlighted features and tech specifications to understand the Panasonic 3E tablet cum laptop better.

Powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad Core Intel Atom processor, the Panasonic 32 device runs Windows 8.1 Pro and features a 10-inch IPS LCD screen with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and five-point touch. Considering the fact that students would want to carry it around in backpacks, the Panasonic 3E tablet sports a shock-absorbing, rubber mid-frame with a tough, easy-to-grip textured exterior that can handle a fall from 70 cm and be carried around in the bag without a dent or a scratch. Thanks to the in-built stylus, students can interact with the Panasonic 3E tablet and make more productive use of it by taking notes and drawing on the screen.

Among the connectivity options, the tablet is packed with Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a microSD card slot, a micro HDMI port and a audio-mic combo-jack. On the memory front, the Panasonic 3E comes loaded with a 2GB DDR3L-RS 1333 RAM and an internal memory of 32GB or 64GB eMMC.


The recently launched Intel Education 2 in 1 tablet seems to have got a tough competitor with Panasonic 3E. It is with regret we tell you that the details about the price or availability of either of these tablets are not yet known.
