PadFone - ASUS' Tablet With Phone Dock

ASUS Padfone tries to solve a problem faced by tablet users all over the world - it's does not replace the phone as communication device. Well, ASUS offers a solution by providing a phone dock inside their new tablet called 'Padfone'. The new device will be launched in a few hours at the Computex in Taiwan. Whether this is an incredibly useful idea or not, we'll let our readers decide. Once immediate use that we notice of this mechanism is that users won't have to carry phone separately. The phone is entirely consumed by the tablet. See pic. -

It's being learned that ASUS had Garmin design the hardware for the new Padfone. Complete details on hardware & software specs are not available yet. But we guess availability of USB & HDMI port with the doc so that the 'Fone' and 'Pad' can communicate with each other. It's certain that PadFone will run on Android, but whether it'll have the Honeycomb goodness; is not yet clear. At this point of time, we can only say that a new form factor for tablets is emerging and right now, ASUS is the only company that's offering it.
