New Xbox controller
The one that comes with the Slim, does it need a different play and charge kit? plugged in the battery from my old white controller and it gets no power?

Kaustubh KatdareNope it doesn't need a different charge kit. When you connect it to the main unit via mini-USB, it will charge automatically. You can see the charge level on the display.
