Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 14-inch Ultrabook Launched, Going On Sale This Month

Just as promised, Lenovo has launched its new laptop called the 'ThinkPad X1 Carbon', inspired from smartphones and tablets for features and designed to be ultra light weight. Featuring a 14-inch screen, the weight of this laptop is reduced to just three pounds, which is about 0.7 pounds lesser than the last year's model. Along with this, the resolution of the screen is reduced from 1366 x 768 to 1600 x 900, whereas some minor tweaks are done to the good old backlit, spill-resistant keyboard. 3G connectivity is an optional feature.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon runs over an Ivy Bridge processor that is coupled with Intel's vPro management technology. Apart from this, Mr. Dilip Bhatia, Vice President, ThinkPad business unit shared at the launch that this ultrabook has up to eight hours of battery life and the startup time is reduced by as much as half to under 20 seconds. We will see the X1 Carbon hitting markets later this month. Pricing details are not revealed. We will keep you updated though.
