LEGO Mindstorms EV3 : Robotics Meets Android & iOS & Makes DIYers Happier

LEGO has unveiled the next generation of the Mindstorms, called the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 for the robotics enthusiasts all over the world. We know the oldies envy the kids for having access to the sophisticated toolkit that this product offers. The platform will be available in summer and the company says that it took them almost 3 years to develop it.

The kit is powered by an intelligent brick, with a smarter and faster processor. The kit offers a new IR sensor for better control over the robots and a new Linux?based firmware, a USB port and SD expansion slot will offer nearly unlimited programming and expansion capabilities. For the first time, Lego Mindstorms will have 3D building instructions, made possible because of association with Autodesk - a leader in the 3D & modelling software. The new kit will also offer tighter integration with Android and iOS platforms.

For  $349.99, we think the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 could be a great gift for your junior engineer (and senior as well).
