Jolla Tablets Featuring The Sailfish 2.0 OS Up For Pre-Order In India

Last month Jolla Partners With India's Intex To Bring Sailfish OS Products By 2015 Endyou that Jolla has partnered with Intex to bring the Sailfish products in India by end of 2015. We now bring you more details about the same. But first, a little background. Jolla is a Finland based company which was started by ex-employees of Nokia. They developed their first tablet based on their OS (Sailfish OS) back in 2013. This tablet was much appreciated and Jolla got a huge crowdfunding for their next tablet in 2104. This is the new tablet that is now up for pre-orders and comes with the second version of the Sailfish OS.

When it comes to the specs, the tablet is pretty similar to what iPad mini 2 offers. The Jolla tablet has a 7.85 inch display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The tablet is powered by a 1.8 GHz 64-bit quad-core Intel processor and 2GB RAM. The graphics are handled by the Intel HD Graphics GPU. The tablet will be available in 2 variants. One with 32 GB internal memory and other with 64 GB. Both the variants are expandable upto 128 GB using microSD card.

The rear camera of the device is of 5MP and the front camera is of 2MP. Under connectivity, the device offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS/GPS and micro-USB options. The phone has a 4450 mAh battery. If you are an Android fan but are still interested in this tablet then you won’t be disappointed because the tablet also offers compatibility to Android apps.

The Sailfish OS 2.0 provides the ability of multi-tasking, fast interaction and gesture based UI. If privacy is your primary concern while buying a device, then Sailfish OS takes care of that too. The company has assured that there is no ‘backdoor’ per se and also the third-party apps can’t track user activities. The phone is up for pre-order in US, Canada, Australia, India, Hong Kong and Russia. The prices are 267 € (Rs 20,000 approx.) for the 32 GB model and 299 € (Rs 22,500 approx.).
