ISRO Bags The Indira Gandhi Prize 2014; Wears Another Feather In Its Cap With Pride

The engineers and researchers at ISRO have another reason to cheer as the organisation has won the Indira Gandhi Prize 2014 for Peace, Disarmament and Development. The space and research organisation has been working relentlessly for more than four decades and exploring newer avenues. Being conferred with this prestigious award is the new feather in its cap. The year 2014 was particularly a special for ISRO. It all began when in February, 2014 at the Mangalore University's 32nd convocation, Mr. K Radhakrishnan, Chairman, ISRO shared that the organisation is working on new technologies that explores ISRO Working On Technologies That Have Potential To Put Humans Into Space. The Indira Gandhi Peace Prize is awarded each year since 1986 to an individual or organisation (either Indian or International) who/which has achieved scientific discoveries sed for the larger good of humanity. The prize includes a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 million. Some of the other names who have been awarded the Indira Gandhi 2014 Prize include UNICEF, Rajiv Gandhi, Muhammad Yunus, Kofi Annan, Ela Bhatt and Angela Merkel to name a few.
