Intex launches Aqua Prime 4G smartphone at Rs 6,555: Tech specs and features

Indian smartphone brand Intex Technologies has added another new budget-friendly smartphone in its Aqua series lineup with the launch of the Aqua Prime 4G. The device is priced at Rs 6,555 and has been listed on the company’s official website with color options of white, champagne gold and grey. It is the first smartphone from the house of Intex to boast a front-facing flash for its selfie camera.

The handset measuring 154.5mm in height, 77.5mm in width and 8.3mm in thickness, sports a 5.5-inch On-cell IPS HD (1280x720 pixels) display offering a screen to body ratio of 70% and pixel density of 269ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by the 32-bit Quad-core MediaTek MTK6735P SoC clocked at 1.0GHz along with 600MHz ARM-Mali760 MP1 GPU. There is 1 GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage, with room for further expansion by up to 32GB via a microSD card.

On the optics front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 lens, dual LED flash at the rear with features like HDR, Panorama, and Auto Capture Mode. For clicking selfies, there is the 2-megapixel front shooter with single LED flash.
The Aqua Prime 4G comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/AGPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio port and microUSB port. The entire package is powered by a 2,800mAh Li-Polymer battery which claims to deliver a standby time of up to 500 hours and 11 hours of talk time. The device runs on Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

With the Aqua Prime 4G, Intex is up against the Xiaomi Redmi 4A which has set a standard for the budget price segment. But looking at the specifications, Intex's latest offering is a bit overpriced at Rs 6,555.
