Bharti group pushed the Telefónica group to number 5 position and now sits after the América Móvil Group. The top and the second spot have been claimed by the China Mobile (as expected) and the Vodafone Group. But what gets our attention is the lead they have over Bharti group. The numbers are simply astonishing. China Mobile has maintained its lead with over 683 million subscriber base which grew by 11% (YoY). The Vodafone group which is behind the China Mobile by a huge margin grew by 5% and boasts of a subscriber base of 386.88 million.

There are more Indian telecom companies in the list. The Ambani owned Reliance Communications is currently at #8 spot with a user base of 154.6 million followed by the Aditya Birla owned 'Idea Cellular' group with 117 million users. Indian Government owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, BSNL made to the number 20 spot with 98.28 million users.

It's quite impressive that major Indian telecos have made it to the world's biggest telecom operators list, right?
