Hyosung's Power Transformer: Highest Quality Since 40 Years

Powertransformers are the backbone of any power system. Hyosung has been manufacturing power transformers with a very good quality for about 40 years. Let us have a look into the manufacturing details of their transformers. They manufacture both core type and shell type transformers.

Winding: The coils manufactured can bear lightning and switching impulses and other short circuit forces. The copper conductors are well insulated and at times their positions are reversed or slightly changed to ensure that current flows through the entire coil and there is uniform voltage stress on the entire coil.

Insulation material: High density pressboards are used as the insulating material. It has very low or almost negligible moisture content in it. They are impregnated with oil while assembling the transformer.

Core: The core consists of 2,3,4 or 5 columns depending on the number of phases, capacity and transport restrictions. The core material is highly permeable and made up of silicon steel . it has low hysteresis loss. It is laminated and has an inorganic coating. Core legs are secured with epoxy glass bands and yokes are secured with insulated stainless steel band. This provides structural rigidity to the transformer during transportation.

Core and Coil assembly: Hyosung’s assembly room is designed in a wonderful manner maintaining clean pressure and avoiding any form of dust and contamination particles. The windings once constructed are dried under iso-static pressure  to remove the moisture and are then wound in a concentric manner over the legs of the core. Then the leads and other supporting structures are installed. When the clamping is done ,the active part is then dried through a vapor-phase process.

Tank: The transformer is provided with a huge tank which is air tight and gas tight. The tank has good strength and is worthy enough to withstand an internal pressure of  full vacuum inside it and vacuum drying without any permanent structural deformation. The tank is also provided with manholes and handholes that make its certain part  accessible for cleansing and other purposes.

Final Assembly: The other components like the radiators, brushings ,etc.  are assembled on the tank. Valves are made up of bronze, stainless steel and brass. They do not rust easily. Once the components are mounted the tank is filled with oil under vacuum.
