How can a electronics and communication engineer get placed in core companies?
What according to you is a core company ?
Are you looking for jobs in Radio/RAN optimization, Packet core telecom, Embedded systems or VLSI ?
First Don't think you are from electronics or computer science prepare well for aptitude, domain knowledge and speak confidently in group discussions it will help you in further rounds. Be prepared for the topics which you are really good and try to tell your area of interest when you introduce yourself to the interviwers. Every company will look for leadership and confidence level in you not the correct answers for all the questions they ask you. If you don't know any answers tell them you don't know that answers and tell them to give a chance to learn it will surely convince intervivew panel to give you a chance to explore your knowledge.
Be prepared for atleast one programming language. In recent days all the companies are mainly concerned about programming skills and confidence. Don't sit ideal in group discussion speak atleast twice or thrice, speak while others stop speaking don't interupt when others speak, speak relavant to the topic instead of speaking unrelavant things. You should know about circuits they will ask you to draw and explain circuits in technical rounds. At the same time know about the comany and the designation they are offering. Whatever you mention in the resume matters lot you should be thorough enough to answer everything you mentioned in your resume. Mainly your confidance decides your position.
Best wishes for your carrier. Hope to see you get placed in good company shortly.
Firstly there is nothing called a particular core job for graduates can be of any branch or specialisation. I was also under the impression that there exists something called core job but later realised true meaning of core job. Core job various from person to person. For one if she/he is interested in programming then software jobs become core. For somebody if they are passionate about marketing networking becomes the core job. If you are interested in Embedded systems and VLSI then your core job would be related to the posts of physical designer, design for test ability DFT engineer, embedded engineer etc., It all depends on the person what exactly he/she wants to do and their own interests that matters. I do agree that every branch will have its core fields. Being an Electronic and Communication engineering engineer I can say the core fields for ECE would be Electronics and Communication but it’s not limited to that. Instead we have lot many options to do based on our own interest.
I’d say Engineering is the field which gives you such options and choices to choose what you want and allows you to continue and excel in the field you wanted to see you.
Proud to be an engineer.
