Gogoro From Taiwan Unveils The World’s First Smartscooter - Here's What's New.

Gogoro, the Taiwanese company, is ready to set foot in the fast-changing, green-embracing automobile market with one of a kind Smartscooter that is zero on emissions and high on latest technologies. Gogoro has been known for quite some time for being involved in the transformation of energy distribution sector and management of megacities. With Gogoro Smartscooter and a battery swapping infrastructure that the folks call 'Gogoro Energy Network', it hopes to begin a journey towards safer and cleaner future society. The Smart Scooter is powered by the Gogoro G1 electric motor that sits inside a lightweight aeroframe monocoque chassis. Featuring jet-fighter landing gear suspension in the front and multi-link suspension on the rear, the electric bike is said to deliver smooth performance in a variety of conditions. But that's just the basics. What really interests us is why it's being called smart when surely it's not a self-driving system.

Well, the Gogoro Smartscooter sports 30 sensors, connectivity to cloud and an integrated Gogoro mobile app. Moreover, an inbuilt Gogoro iQ System puts the power of a PC inside the scooter that lets it wirelessly synchronize with the app, it's battery and the whole Gogoro Energy Network, which by the way is nothing but a a modular battery-swapping infrastructure that can be deployed across a city for easy access to battery vending machines called 'GoStations'. The interesting mobile app can be used to locate the nearest GoStation, collect vital information about the scooter such as - top speed or range for riding patterns and features customized regenerative braking and adaptive throttle control. When the battery is exhausted, it can be replaced with another at the GoStation (within 6 seconds). One can reserve the batteries in advance and also make use of the subscription-based payment model if one believes in planning in advance.

Apart from being smart and green, the Gogoro Smartscooter is highly customizable - a feature none of the mainstream two-wheelers offer. Users can choose a customized throttle acceleration and even the color spectrum on the dashboard screen, the theme of lighting and lock-and-unlock the audio.

Finally, the company has declared that the Gogoro Smartscooter and GoStation will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas between starting tomorrow so if you are visiting you could take a look.
