Gloveone puts virtual reality in your hands with smart gloves

Gloveone, the smart gloves developed by a Spanish company 'NeuroDigital Technologies' is aiming to put virtual reality in your hands. Everyone knows that virtual reality (VR) is the coming to our lives big way and technologies like Microsoft Hololens : Reality Is Now A Matrix! are making it even more desirable. While the VR lets you create your own world on the top of existing physical world around you, it missed the sensations like touch, shape and weight of the objects in the virtual world.

The Gloveone has been designed to address that problem. These gloves can give the user a feel of objects from the virtual world he or she is interacting with. The developers say that the glove is capable of producing variety of sensations including rain and fire. Users would be able to sense something as ethereal as butterfly wings!

The Gloveone creates this magic using an array of sensors placed on the palm area and the fingertips. The technology translates the touch sensations into various patterns of vibrations to create the sense of touch and shape. The sensors can even detect each other - so that you can hold an apple or a water bottle from the virtual world in your hand.

The gloves also include 9-axis IMU sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometers to measure various movements, velocity, orientation and even gravitational forces. The IMU sensor will help track your hand in the virtual world in order to offer a more realistic experience.

Gloveone is now looking for getting funded from the crowds on Kickstarter. As of writing this article, Gloveone has 188 supporters who have contributed about $53,641 out of the total goal of $150,000. The team has 30 more days to fund their project.
