GE Ecomagination Challenge "Powering Your Home" Winners Declared!

General Electric Ecomagination phase II "Powering Your Home" winners have been declared. The winners are Gonen Fink: Founder and CEO of Pythagoras Solar, Vinesh Mehta: Head of Business Development at Suntulit, Roger Liew: Chariman of e.quinox, Richard Williams: Co-Founder of Xergy Inc. and Plotwatt. Each winner has been awarded $100,000 to each of the innovators and also formed partnerships with 10 companies that work in Home Technology domain.

GE's Ecomagination Challenge was debuted in 2005. GE says that over 100 products have been brought to the market since the contest was launched. Phase I of the challenge resulted in GE forming 12 commercial partnerships to develop next generation of power grid technologies. The second phase of the ecomagination challenge received over 800 innovative ideas. The panel of judges which included leading innovators including Yves Behar, Tim O'Reilly, Bre Pettis and Andy Spade chose above 5 final contestants. GE will now fund their projects and bring them to reality.

Pythagoras Solar, one of the winners has developed innovative solar window while Suntulit has come up with ambience intelligent home technology solution. E.quinox has created an energy kiosk and Xergy Solutions has created green refrigeration solution. Plotwatt showcased their promising smart meter analysis software.
