Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 ICS Firmware Upgrade Arrives In Europe

Samsung has officially declared (#-Link-Snipped-#) that the much awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) is now available in Poland, Hungary, Sweden, & Korea. Galaxy S2 owners in other countries will have to wait a little longer but it won't hurt to upgrade your Samsung Kies software to version 2.0. Be aware that Kies 1.5 version does not support ICS upgrade. Samsung has a good news for the #-Link-Snipped-#, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Tab 8.9 and 10.1 owners as well. Samsung has mentioned that the Android 4.0 ICS will be available for these devices too but did not drop any clues about the possible launch date. Galaxy S2 users from UK may expect the firmware upgrade to arrive around March 19. The owners of GALAXY S, GALAXY Tab 7", GALAXY S Plus, GALAXY S SCL(Super Clear LCD), and GALAXY W need not feel left out. Samsung has promised Android 2.3 Gingerbread firmware upgrade to you too and it will arrive towards the end of March.

Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 ICS Upgrade

The Android 4.0 firmware brings lot of goodies to your devices while retaining the proprietary TouchWiz UI to Galaxy phones. The most notable features offered by Android 4 are Android Beam and Face Unlock. Users planning to upgrade their devices over the air should make sure that you do it through WiFi and have at least 350 Mb space available. We'd however recommend upgrading firmware through your desktop Kies software. Please be informed that not all apps on your phone may work with Android 4.0. Before you attempt an upgrade, we'd strongly recommend you to backup all your important phone data and contacts and also check whether the most important apps you have are compatible with Android 4.0. If you've already upgraded, do share your experience with us.

Excited? Thank Samsung's #-Link-Snipped-# account.
