Galaxy Note Android 4.0 ICS Update Rolls Out In India; Tears Of Happiness Follow

At the time of writing this post, we've already connected our Galaxy Note to Wi-Fi connection in CE Headquarters and have already noticed the magical 'Firmware Update Available' message. Samsung has started rolling out the much awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update to the Galaxy Note users in India. The firmware update brings the much awaited '#-Link-Snipped-#' to Note which is packed with features to make innovative use of the S-pen stylus. Users will enjoy enhanced S-Note application, 'My Story' add-on which will enable you to create personalized digital cards using text, audio and video. The Angry Birds fan will enjoy the Note exclusive, 30-level game.

The ICS update itself will bring multiple GUI enhancements to the phone along with a refreshed layer of Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz. The update will also bring Android Beam and Face Unlock features to your Note. Here's a video that show you what you'll get -

The firmware is a nice 318 MB package and we'd strongly recommend updating yours over your wired/wi-fi connection. Few of the users have reported that they haven't received the firmware update notification yet. Possible workaround would be to use the Kies Air App Kies Desktop Application to update your firmware.

Update I: Many users are reporting a minor 36 MB update and not the full ICS Update. We checked and confirm that the firmware is indeed available on the Kies Desktop Application on both Mac and Windows. Make sure you've the updated version of Kies.

Update II: The 36 MP update only updates few of the apps and it's no way the Android 4.0 firmware. You must get the notification in Kies about the availability of firmware upgrade before you can attempt to download and install it.
