Fitness turns ICY with Nike+ FuelBand ICE
Every athlete or non-athlete who likes to work out is aware of Nike Fuelband which came into market in the recent past. Nike has added another flavor to it.
Lets turn some pages and look into the chapter of Nike Fuelband. It was that time when Jawbone Up was one of the fitness gadgets available in the market and had its own pros and cons. Nike grabbed the opportunity to make a better and sleek gadget and termed it as Nike Fuelband.
Nike fuelband is a rubber wristband embedded with LEDs to show how active one has been throughout the day or how he/she has carried out some work and it has its own unit to display it. A fitness index is used to determine the activeness of the user in terms of a unit called Nike Fuel. It is not a count of number of steps or the number of calories burnt but instead, the designers have found out some method to relate body movements with the tasks a person can perform.Nike aimed at providing a universal counter to be accepted for fitness measures.
What makes it different?Its main part is a tri-axis accelerometer in the wristband which is responsible for running
various algorithms to classify every type of movement the user make ranging from climbing stairs to playing cricket or basketball. The logic is straight. More the movement, more is the Fuel units that we get on the band. Taking stairs over elevator gives the user more fuel. When compared to its counterparts, Nike Fuelband incorporated to lithium batteries along the curvature which was the first achievement of its kind.

Nike Fuelband is synchronized with an Iphone App that shows a more detailed insight of the performance which is updated automatically with the readings of the Fuelband. The Fuelband also comes with a LED indicator to show how much we are behind the day's schedule. Not only this, the Iphone Applets the user witness the number of days he/she is crossed the daily goal and also gives the facility of sharing it over Facebook or any other social networking websites.
What's new with Nike+ Fuelband ICE?
The difference with this flavor is that instead of the black rubber band of earlier version, this has a transparent Icy look that gives the user a look of all the circuits inside and also provides LEDs to let the user know when he is hot. Nike+ Fuelband goes on sale at NikeTown location at New York on July 27 and this is one of the major steps in the Nike+ campaign.
