Facebook Password Reset: The New Security Feature!

Facebook has decided to provide a new security feature that will allow mobile device users to reset their password so they can regain access to their accounts. #-Link-Snipped-# will impart mobile users the power to distinguish their accounts and and select which email addresses should incur recovery links. Many other ways of confirming accounts are decided, but are yet to be detailed out.

#-Link-Snipped-#Dan Muriello, an engineer on Facebook's integrity team, wrote, “If you ever forget your password or get locked out of your account, we want to make it easy to get back on Facebook. We are testing the ability to reset your password from your mobile device.” Facebook engineers intend to launch the reset feature gradually so they can assemble feedback as they proceed. The ability to reset passwords from mobile phones shapes on former security enhancements proposed by the social network. The site can then send emails or SMS messages every time a user's account is accessed on a new computer. It also filters sites known to be harmful and offers protections against some spam attacks.

The password reset feature was declared in the same post that drafted a new social-reporting feature also being sent out to mobile users. Muriello explained, “If you are reporting something you don't like, we want to make it easy for you to communicate with the person who posted it. For example, if you don't like a photo of yourself that someone uploaded, you can use social reporting to ask that person to take it down.”

Let's see how long this feature avoids spammers from hitting back, which, considering Facebook's record, is bound to happen soon.
