egazette.nic.in : The Digital Gazette of India

egazette.nic.in is the official portal for the gazette of India in digital form. The government of India has taken an absolutely brilliant step towards its mission to make 'Digital India' a reality. The government has announced that it will now publish all the notifications through its online portal and not through printed paper. This move alone will result into saving of LOT of paper and also several crores of rupees.

The government has decided that it will no longer print the official gazette notifications and circulate them throughout the country. It will instead make them available digitally through its official portal. It's estimated that the move will save about 3.5 crore pages printed every year, and result into saving of about 40 crore annually.

Anyone can visit the website and download the relevant notification. The portal will host all the important legal documents, official transfers and important government decisions. You may visit the website and find out various documents published by the government.

A simple move by the government; but a very brilliant one I'd say. What's your take?
