Detection Of Plant Disease

Project Abstract / Summary : In most of the developing nations, economy is greatly influenced by the agriculture aspects of the country.

In modern era, Agriculture plays a vital role in nation’s development. But in developing countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal the condition of agriculture sector is getting worse day by day. There are many reasons behind it but one of the main reason is decay of crops by pest and disease. But agriculture solely depends on the biological health of the crops and factors responsible for the crop disease includes bacteria, fungi, viruses, insects, temperature variations and many more which causes infectious disease. These plants disease need to be identified to improve the growth of agriculture.

So to overcome with this problem we have come up with our project idea which not only helps to identify the disease but also prevents it from spreading up in the entire field.

For this we are using a raspberry pi, an image processing using using MATLAB & camera which will interface with the raspberry pi.

A camera is used to take the image of crop leaves that will interface with raspberry pi. This image will be processed and analysed by using MATLAB and raspberry pi. Then the analysed image will be compared with the pre-loaded data on our project model. This pre-loaded data store will contain the information about the plant disease. If the analyse data is matched with the pre-loaded data it will be identified by the device. If the disease is identified a message/alert will be send to the farmer.

Project Highlights : Our project should win this contest because we are providing most economical and expedient method for plants disease detection.This project not only benefit farmers to protect their crops but also helps that person who is related to agriculture,farming,gardening,etc.
