Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook With Intel Core i5, 256GB SSD For $1000 Debuted At CES 2012

Dell XPS 13, the company's 13.3-inch, 3 pounds (1.36 kg) ultrabook was unveiled today. Powered with Intel Core i5 or #-Link-Snipped-#, Intel HD 3000 graphics and a bright high definition WLED 300-nit display are the features on the list. Dell's much awaited, XPS 13 has 128GB and 256GB SSD options. And Dell DataSafe gives you an additional 100GB of cloud storage. Intel's latest technology #-Link-Snipped-#, as Dell puts it, makes the user experience productive, connected and responsive anywhere. Basically, Rapid Start helps XPS 13 boot in seconds and Smart Connecti periodically displays known networks and update calendar or email.

Dell XPS 13 features edge-to-edge glass toughened with the #-Link-Snipped-#. Dell claims that the battery life lasts for a little more than 8 hours. Within the package, you get a full-size backlit keyboard that has a large glass touchpad that boasts of the multi-gestural support. A product that directly competes with #-Link-Snipped-# and #-Link-Snipped-#, there are some features like a 12-month Skype Premium subscription for all buyers.  The built-in 1.3MP webcam with dual array digital microphones is going to be just about average.

Dell said in the press release that the first 10,000 customers of the XPS 13 in the U.S. will receive a free T-Mobile 4G Mobile HotSpot. A 90 day free mobile broadband service at up to 4G speeds comes attached. One can buy a XPS 13 for $999 through Dell.com or select retail stores, while people across the world will be able to buy it from March 2012.
