Dell Latitude 7285 is the World’s First Wireless Charging 2-in-1 hybrid Laptop

The world’s first wireless charging laptop with ultra-thin features- Dell Latitude 7285 is now officially listed on the company’s website for sale starting at $1,199 (approx. Rs. 77000). The convertible laptop device features 12.3-inch anti-glare touchscreen with detachable tablet-like display. There is provision of a detachable keyboard which the company claims to be amongst the thinnest, lightest and smallest commercial 2-in-1. It can further effectively transition between four modes: tent, laptop, slate, and tablet.

The device is thus perfect for working at desk or on the go. However interested buyers would have to cough up an extra $549.99 (approx. Rs. 34,000) for the Wireless Charging Keyboard and the Wireless Charging Mat. The combination of laptop and charging gear can be bought for a discount of $29. Placing the device on the Wireless charging mat powers the 2-in-1 without having to plug in, allowing work without the restraint of cords and wires.

One could also opt for the less expensive Productivity Keyboard for $250 with no wireless charging technology support. The other specifications on the device include Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor, 128 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. Accessories include a wireless, lightweight, compact mouse for maximum portability and comfort, a Dell active Pen, Dell dock for additional charging support. Latitude 7285 is the first hybrid to use wireless charging, owing its capabilities to WiTricity’s magnetic resonance technology offering spatial freedom.

The operating system includes Windows 10 Pro coming with an IR Camera (Windows Hello sign-in) and WLAN features. Ports and slots include- Windows Home Button, Noble Wedge Lock Slot, USIM/USD , USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3, Headset/Mic Combo. A 13-inch variant of the laptop labeled as model Dell Latitude 7000 is due for release in August, pricing of which is expected to be announced soon. Microsoft’s Surface Pro launched earlier this year offers almost the parallel features as Dell Latitude 7285 albeit without wireless charging technology support.
