Chip Yates Does 306 Kmph On Electric Motorcycle @ Mojave Mile

Chip Yates loves speed, motorcycles and also cares for planet. That's why he keeps on breaking his own records set using his Electric Motorcycle. Chip crossed 306 Kmph on his Electric Motorcycle at Mojave Mile breaking his earlier record by about 27 Kmph. Well, Chip isn't done yet. He thinks he can clock more from his motorcycle. Yates said that the computer models of his electric bike suggest that the motorcycle can actually do 320+ Kmph, however, the actual riding involved high-speed buffeting preventing him from achieving the top speed.

Chip partnered with Swigz.com Pro Racing crew for his record attempt. However, he could only do two runs as there was no facility to charge his bike's 12.4 kilowatt-hour battery pack - the main powerhouse. The team has gathered technical data from his run and have discovered few points which will be addressed soon. With the issues addressed, Yates says that the motorcycle can achieve 210 Mph speed max, however for limited time. The crew has improved the design of the motorcycle and it is now capable of 240 HP. The immediate concern is to improve the power/weight ratio of the machine.

The bike has undergone several modifications already. The bike typically runs for a mile during trials which is a very different situation from road racing. The crew has worked on improving the shape and design of the bike to minimize the air-drag and wind resistance, the software to control the primary motor has been modified, custom jackshafts and sprockets have been installed to manage the torque during bike's 8500 RPM. An additional booster package provides additional voltage to the battery. The following video shows the footage from the Bike's run -
