BLU R1 Plus offers a decent Android Marshmallow experience at Rs. 10,290

BLU Mobiles, the American smartphone manufacturer known for its affordable offerings is out with a new smartphone that offers a pretty good Android Marshmallow experience at an affordable price tag. The BLU R1 Plus has already gone up for sale in the US on online platforms like Amazon and Best Buy. The BLU R1 Plus starts off the spec sheet strongly with its 5.5inch display with HD resolution. The BLU R1 Plus has a 2.5D curved glass covering courtesy of Corning and comes with BLU’s in-house Infinite Technology. The BLU R1 Plus however quickly loses its sheen since it is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 processor that houses a 64bit 1.3GHz quad-core processor and Mali 720 GPU.

The BLU R1 Plus will be available in 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM variant and 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM variant. Currently the 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM variant has gone up for sale with a price tag of 160USD which comes to around Rs. 10,290. Normally Indian manufacturer like #-Link-Snipped-# and #-Link-Snipped-# offers the same configuration for nearly two grand less. You can use microSD cards of up to 64GB to expand the storage. The BLU R1 Plus manages to redeem itself in the camera department with the 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP flash with flash. Both the cameras are capable of recording footage at 1080p.

The BLU R1 Plus is powered by a 4000mAh battery that can last for more than a day on average use. Unlike most smartphones available in the US this one is a dual SIM smartphone and is carrier unlocked which means you can use a cellular service provider of your choice. The BLU R1 Plus runs on Android Marshmallow and not the latest Android Nougat. The BLU R1 Plus supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB. The BLU R1 Plus is a 4G capable smartphone.
